Qwest is a maritime risk management consultancy formed through an innovative partnership between West P&I and C Solutions to provide versatile shipping support.
Qwest brings together the insurance expertise of the West of England and the innovative legal and consultancy skills of C Solutions to offer the maritime industry a suite of tailored products to address those needs. Our experienced team can work alongside and support a client’s in-house functional departments but also offer bespoke services for particular roles or even provide operators with the option of outsourcing a number of their back-office functions.
Completely flexible and able to be tailored to meet each client’s individual needs, Qwest is always there to protect and support ship operators and traders throughout their operations.

This philosophy of being responsive and proactive to its Members’ needs has resulted in West entering into strategic collaborations with selected partners in order to expand the products and services available to support ship operators and the wider maritime industry. As well as the Qwest joint venture with C Solutions the West Group has also partnered with Nordic Marine Insurance and Astaara to expand the range of products and services it is able to offer.

C Solutions is a legal and claims consultancy established in 2000 advising on all shipping legal and insurance matters. Headquartered in the City of London, the firm also has offices in Hamburg, Hong Kong, Piraeus, Singapore and Sydney. It is staffed by lawyers, experienced claims handlers from the P&I and H&M sectors, Master Mariners and insurance industry professionals and enjoys a strong reputation for its commercial approach to legal and practical problems.
The firm has a thriving practice representing owners in all manner of claims including charterparty disputes, demurrage and dead freight collections, piracy, confiscation claims, H&M, shipbuilding and repair disputes. Their market-leading Admiralty team advises on maritime casualty matters, including crisis planning and response, investigation and legal follow up. It is well-known for its knowledge of all types of salvage, towage and wreck removal contracts and its experience of handling matters involving LOF/SCOPIC and bespoke marine services contracts.
